Homemade Bounty Bars

  • Author: Sarah

Ingredients

Scale

To make your homemade Bounty bars, gather the following ingredients:

  • 250g desiccated coconut
  • 250g sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 500g milk chocolate (or dark chocolate for a twist)

Instructions

Creating your own Bounty bars is as simple as mixing, shaping, and coating. Follow these steps to achieve coconut-chocolate perfection:

  1. Mix: In a bowl, combine the desiccated coconut, condensed milk, and vanilla extract. Stir until well blended.
  2. Shape: Form the mixture into 8 bars and place them in the fridge to firm up for about 30 minutes.
  3. Melt Chocolate: Gently melt the chocolate in a microwave or double boiler until smooth.
  4. Coat Bars: Take the bars out of the fridge and place them on a wire rack over a tray. Pour the melted chocolate over each bar to coat evenly.
  5. Set: Place the bars back in the fridge for another 30 minutes to set the chocolate, keeping any leftover chocolate warm.
  6. Finish Coating: Once set, turn the bars over and repeat the coating process to cover all sides.
  7. Decorate: Use a skewer to create design lines on top of each bar while the chocolate is still soft. Let them set completely before serving.
