  • 15 Graham Cracker sheets
  • 1 cup butter (unsalted)
  • 1 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1.5 cups chocolate chips
  • 0.5 cup chopped nuts (almonds or pecans)

These ingredients are simple and might already be in your kitchen, making this recipe even more accessible.

Instructions

Follow these straightforward steps to make your own batch of delicious Graham Cracker Toffee:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Arrange the Graham Crackers:
    • Place the graham crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they cover the entire surface.
  3. Prepare the Toffee Mixture:
    • In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar together over medium heat.
    • Bring the mixture to a boil, then simmer for 4 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
  4. Pour Over Graham Crackers:
    • Carefully pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the graham crackers, ensuring each cracker is well-coated.
  5. Bake:
    • Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 8 minutes. Keep an eye on it to prevent the toffee from burning.
  6. Add Chocolate:
    • Remove the baking sheet from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the top.
    • Let the chocolate chips sit for about 2 minutes to melt.
  7. Spread and Add Nuts:
    • Using a spatula, spread the melted chocolate evenly over the toffee-covered graham crackers.
    • Sprinkle the chopped nuts over the chocolate while it’s still soft.
  8. Cool and Serve:
    • Allow the toffee to cool for about 2 hours at room temperature, or refrigerate for 1 hour until the chocolate hardens.
    • Once set, break the toffee into pieces and enjoy!
