Before you start cooking, gather the following ingredients:
- 12 medium button or cremini mushrooms, cleaned and stems removed
- Olive oil spray
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs (or panko for extra crunch)
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 cup green onions, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2–3 tbsp fresh Italian parsley, chopped
- 1 cup cooked crab meat, finely chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Creating these scrumptious stuffed mushrooms is a breeze. Follow these simple steps:
- Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). This will ensure that your mushrooms cook evenly.
- Prepare the Mushrooms: Lightly spray the mushrooms with olive oil and arrange them cap side down on a baking sheet. This will allow them to hold the filling better.
- Mix the Filling: In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, bread crumbs, minced garlic, soy sauce, finely chopped green onions, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, and finely chopped crab meat. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste.
- Stuff the Mushrooms: Using a spoon, fill each mushroom cap with about 1.5 tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture. Make sure the filling is compact and slightly mounded.
- Bake the Mushrooms: Place the stuffed mushrooms in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes. This will allow the filling to set and the mushrooms to cook through.
- Broil for Crispiness: For a crispy top, broil the mushrooms for an additional minute at the end of the baking time. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning.
