- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- 1 tbsp minced ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 white onion, chopped
- 2 bell peppers, chopped
Instructions
Follow these steps to prepare a delightful Black Pepper Chicken:
- Marinate the Chicken
- In a bowl, mix the chicken with soy sauce, cooking wine, and cornstarch.
- Let the mixture sit for 10-15 minutes to soak up the flavors.
- Prepare the Sauce
- In another bowl, combine the sauce ingredients: chicken broth, soy sauce, cooking wine, dark soy sauce, cornstarch, sugar, black pepper, and salt. Mix well until the cornstarch is dissolved.
- Cook the Chicken
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the marinated chicken in a single layer. Cook for 30 seconds, then flip and cook for another 15-20 seconds until lightly browned.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Stir Fry the Vegetables
- Add another tablespoon of oil to the skillet.
- Stir in minced ginger and garlic until fragrant.
- Add chopped onion and bell peppers. Cook for approximately 20 seconds.
- Combine Everything
- Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet, stirring continuously until it thickens.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and mix well to coat the chicken with the sauce.
